Bay Area Book Festival: Trippin’ with Ayalet Waldman

Hotel Shattuck Plaza, Crystal Ballroom | 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

From the festival website:

“Try LSD!” is unconventional marital advice, but Ayelet Waldman is an unconventional author. Her latest book, ‘A Really Good Day: How Microdosing Made a Mega Difference in My Mood, My Marriage, and My Life,’ tackles marriage and more in her month-long experiment with small doses of illegal LSD to treat her depression and crippling mood swings. Together with award-winning author Sylvia Brownrigg (‘Pages for You’), the two will offer large doses of hilarity and heart while diminishing the stigma of mental illness.

Bay Area Book Festival: The Ferocity of Love

Hotel Shattuck Plaza, Boiler Room | 1:30 PM – 2:45 PM

From the festival website:

How far would you go for someone you love? These three gripping novelists contemplate the unexpected barbs, the questions, and disappointments of love’s promise. With provocative looks at relationships between parents, children, lovers, and friends, this event reminds us that love, as Stephen King put it, “has teeth.”
